Things I have seen, Places I have been and what I have done

Things have been pretty wacky lately. Busy would be an understatement! However, I wanted to share somethings, places, and craftiness with you that I have been a part of lately.

First up...my visit to the craft store. Ahh, I have really missed being here. I am learning in life. To limit yourself is pointless. When we learn, when we explore, when take a chance...that is when we grow.

 

In said scrapbook store, I found this button. Pretty cool find if you ask me!

 With a couple tools I bought from this store, I was able to create this....

And this!

I also realized how much I have missed photography and hydrangeas.

Also, a little me time made me realize how much I love the comfy couch at Starbucks.

Taking my first spin class and not only making it through the entire hour...but keeping up with those who have been doing it forever!

 

And let me tell you that when this little duck followed me around the plaza...I could only think of a saying I use....your the mama duck...who is going to follow your waddle?

The there was the trip to the grocery store with my 17 year old daughter and finally....

 Seeing my son in his play "Feast".

This weekend I hope to be more crafty...sip slowly on a cup of coffee, walk outside and enjoy the weather, take a few pictures and soak up how wonderful life is.

One Happy Chick...that could be considered Marvelous

I made a couple cards that reflect where I am in my life right now.

I am, without a doubt, one happy chick. I am finding myself in the world. I am creating my way, I am rebuilding me, I am refining my life and I am loving every moment that is presented. 

I also got to use the itty bitty bits stamp set and punches for these two cards. Yes, Stampin Up has a set called itty bitty bits coming out in the new Summer Mini!! You know I am excited!

The next card reflects, my friends and my family! You are truly Marvelous and every day is richer and stronger because you are in it.

Sometimes...Simple things make me think of her...

Last night I had to sew a button on my blouse and thought of my grandma. She was a super sweet, very itty bitty little old Irish woman. Never swore, always made dessert with dinner and loved us no matter what.

I always think of her when I think of buttons. When I was a kid she had this lovely ridiculously old tin with a woman painted on the front. I always thought it was her. That she had been captured for this painting because of her grace. Because of her soft scent, because she my grandma and she was amazing.

The thing I loved about opening this container as a kid was all the colors, the shapes, the cool finds in there.

Nowadays, I open it...because I can smell her, her perfume and with that I am reminded of a simpler time and place when my life was carefree and wonderful.

Ten Things....

1. Baseball, I can watch little leagues to the Majors everyday of the week.

2. Starbucks...Iced, strong, delicious

3. Lavender Vanilla Hand Cream from Bath & Body Works. It is the most calming and amazing hand cream ever

4. Sunsets on water. This was taken last summer in Lake Geneva. End of a fabulous day and gorgeous view.

 

5. Nico the Cat. He can be the most curious cat at times and then just be downright lazy.

 

6. My Pretty City. I love Chicago and there truly is no place like home.

 

7. Swimming. I do it five days a week and there is no greater peace within me than this

8.  Shabby Chic Everything!! I am now in the process of redoing all my rooms in the house in a Shabby Chic, Vintage, Crisp, white, lace, floral, romantic design. All you need is a little inspirations sometimes....

9. Rainstorms - sometimes a little rain can soothe the soul and get a whole lot done in the house.
